Spencer Pratt finally let bygones be bygones on Wednesday — supposedly burying the hatchet with former archenemy Lauren Conrad.

The former Hills villain, 28, came out of hiding via Twitter to make a show of celebrating Conrad’s 26th birthday.

“@LaurenConrad Happy Birthday!” Pratt wrote. “Thanks for helping me find my miracle wife @heidimontag !”

Lest fans of The Hills forget, Pratt’s wife is Conrad’s old roomie and ex-BFF Heidi Montag; Conrad and Montag’s friendship imploded on The Hills, largely over issues regarding Pratt.

Pratt continued of author/designer Conrad, who’s currently single following her relationship with Kyle Howard and a fling with Derek Hough: “My birthday wish for @LaurenConrad is for her to find true love like #Speidi.”

Perhaps anticipating the cynics, Pratt added: “I wasn’t being sarcastic! I really do wish the best for Lauren Conrad on her birthday! #forgiveandforget.”

Conrad hasn’t yet responded (via Twitter, anyway) to Pratt’s well-wishes.

Single and ready to mingle!

Lauren Conrad recently split with Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough, but the 25-year-old isn’t wasting any time moving on to her next guy! A source tells the new Us Weekly — on stands Friday — that the Hills alum was spotted “making out” with Chace Crawford on Oct. 29.

Conrad and the Gossip Girl star, 26, kicked off their night of flirting at L.A.’s Voyeur nightclub and later connected at a party at actor Shawn Pyfrom’s house. (Their reps deny the hookup.)

“There’s always been an attraction between them,” an insider tells Us of the longtime pals. “[But] Lauren is just enjoying herself. She’s not taking anything too seriously!”

For weeks, we have been hearing rumors about a possible romance between Derek Hough and Lauren Conrad, but nothing was ever confirmed by the pair. Now, sources say that ABC‘s Dancing With The Stars pro, Derek Hough, and Lauren Conrad are officially over. How can they be over if they never really began?

While Derek Hough of Dancing With The Stars, and Lauren Conrad of The Hills never actually admitted to a relationship, rumors have been swirling the web for weeks about the pair going out on dates, walking hand in hand, and even kissing. But now, sources close to the pair say that they have officially split after three months of dating – really, they were dating? Not so much according to a friend of Lauren Conrad, who recently told Life & Style Magazine: “Their relationship reached its peak. It was always casual.” Another friend of Lauren Conrad also said it was never more than casual, telling Life & Style: “She had fun with Derek — he used to send her cute texts and sing to her — but she always kept her options open,” while a third source said: “This was a rebound that wasn’t going to last. Derek never thought it would, either.” So there you have it folks, the relationship is over before ever began, or had a chance to develop anyway.

Lauren Conrad and Derek Hough added fuel to the fire of dating rumors by partying together – very closely – in the back room at L.A.’s Trousdale Lounge. Though they were with friends – she had Lo Bosworth with her, and he was hanging out with Mark Ballas – they mostly spent time with each other. They even hit the dance floor, where Hough had his arm around Conrad’s waist. “It was obvious there was a lot of chemistry between the two,” an onlooker says. “She was very smitten.” So smitten, in fact, that they shared some smooches. Says the onlooker: “Neither seemed embarrassed about kissing in public.”

While she told E! News yesterday afternoon she was single, guess who she turned up with a few hours later at a hotel in Hollywood? Her rumored paramour Derek Hough…

“[I'm] single, having fun” Conrad said at yesterday’s Veuve Clicquot polo match at Will Rogers State Park in Pacific Palisades.

She continued having fun later that day at the third annual Haunted Hayride kickoff event in Griffith Park with pal Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

But then it was time for some Dancing With the Stars hotness.

The maybe-couple was spotted outside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel chatting with friends, including Hough’s DWTS pal Mark Ballas, according to X17. Although there was no major PDA, Conrad and Hough left together hand in hand, hopping into a white Mercedes and taking off with Hough behind the wheel.

A source close to the couple says, “They are cute together.”

Hough, 26, avoided talking about his love life last week when E! News asked him about Ms. Conrad.

Derek Hough is a sly one.

After Monday night’s Dancing With the Stars, he hit the aftershow carpet for the usual interviews with partner Ricki Lake. And since he’s recently been attached to the adorable Lauren Conrad, we decided to innocently ask him about a possible romance. His reaction?

A little sidestep spin move around the question! Seriously, we’ve seen countless celebrities dodge dating questions, but even we have to admit this one was pretty good. In fact, he even went so far as to mention how he was photographed with another lady to throw us off. Unfortunately for him, the giddy smile Ricki gives her partner after we mentioned L.C.’s name was more than enough proof that something is probably going down between Hough and the former Hills star.

And hey, if Conrad ever makes it to a taping of the show to support her rumored new beau, maybe she and old nemesis Kristin Cavallari can talk things out and finally bury the hatchet.

Yeah, right.

Yup, I just got word that…

There’s a romance brewing between the Dancing With the Stars hoofer and former queen of the Hills. “They’ve been on a few dates together,” a source says.

Just last night, the two raised eyebrows when they hit Jason Scoppa’s weekly live music show at the Sayers Club in Hollywood.

“They were pretty cozy. Definitely playful and flirty,” reports a fellow clubgoer.

How so?

“They were close to each other,” the source explained. “He had his arm around her waist. They were dancing and also holding hands.”

When they left, the paparazzi snapped away, but the two didn’t stand too close together. A big burly security guy also stood in front of them to try to block the shots.

Conrad most recently ended a long relationship with actor Kyle Howard in June, while Hough was linked to former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole.

Reps for Hough and Conrad didn’t comment.

I know there have been quite a bit of rumors lately that Lauren and Kyle have been secretly engaged just after 2 years, but I can assure you that they are not. Lauren’s rep just released a short statement saying “totally false.” Let’s hope all these engagement rumors go away soon!
