Two reality shows were enough for Lauren Conrad.
In Touch recently reported that MTV has offered the former Laguna Beach and Hills star, 23, a Newlyweds-style reality show if she and actor-beau Kyle Howard tie the knot.
“No,” Conrad told Usmagazine.com Wednesday when asked if the tabloid report was true.
Conrad — who attended Nanette Lepore’s NYC fashion show — told Us it’s been “nice” not having the cameras follow her every move.
She added that she probably won’t watch the sixth season of The Hills, which begins Sept. 29 and stars frenemy Kristin Cavallari.
“When you’ve been a part of a show, it’s different to watch,” she said. “It takes the entertainment factor out of it.”
‘Twilight’ Producers To Adapt Lauren Conrad’s Novel Into A Movie
Date: Sep 30, 09 • Categories: News • Reply
Just as Lauren Conrad left her buddies on the screen of one pop culture sensation, she joined up with key players on another. On Tuesday, as “The Hills” started up again without its original star, Variety announced that “Twilight” executive producers had acquired the rights to Conrad’s debut novel, “L.A. Candy.”
Published in June, “L.A. Candy” follows 19-year-old Jane Roberts as she moves to Hollywood and becomes famous after landing on a reality TV show. The movie deal came together after Conrad approached the producers, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, with an idea for how to adapt the book.
“Lauren, who became an icon in that reality show world, came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion, that was separate and apart from the book,” Bowen told Variety. “We loved her take. Her book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn’t at all what I’d planned for myself.”
Lauren Conrad will take on an exec producer credit for the adaptation. “L.A. Candy” spent 14 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list. Conrad signed a three-book deal with Harper Collins and plans to write two more Jane Roberts-focused novels. Bowen and Godfrey will first settle on a screenwriter to adapt the book before starting to seek a studio for the project.
In addition to producing “Twilight,” “New Moon” and “Eclipse,” Bowen and Godfrey are producing “Dear John,” starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum.
Lauren Conrad’s new line for Kohl’s hits Oct. 1

Okay, so you were worried maybe that Lauren Conrad hit the top of the heap with “The Hills.” But as of Thursday, October 1, the much-followed blonde reality show star launches her new contemporary clothing brand, LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s Department stores – 300 of ‘em – and at Kohls.com.
Among the offerings: jeans – skinny and boyfriend styles — $54, a water-colored ruffled frock for $60, a dolman-sleeved sweater $40, and a $20 camisole. Don’t look for much cold weather garb, however. Conrad says that the collection is a “California brand,” featuring much lightweight fabric for an “effortless look,” which might just have you shivering a bit if you live in cooler climes.
That said, our take on the LC’s new duds is pretty positive. It has that breezy, California-girl-hottie look that can easily be amped up with accessories. See for yourself on the video:

Lauren Conrad has revealed that she will not be watching ex-Hills co-star Audrina Patridge’s new TV series.
Conrad exited the MTV show in March. Patridge recently landed her own reality programme and will leave The Hills after its current season ends.
The 23-year-old admitted that there is “something weird” about watching your friends on television.
She told E!: “I don’t like to watch people I know on TV… it’s weird. Even friends of mine that are actors, I don’t like to watch their shows. There’s just something weird about it.”
Conrad also stated that she has not been watching The Hills.
She added: “I haven’t been following it and we don’t really talk about it in the apartment, so I don’t really think about it.”
Patridge previously said that The Hills is only a “job” to her.

Former “The Hills” star Lauren Conrad headed to the beach over the weekend — and it was all for a good cause!
The beauty, along with volunteers from Kohl’s Department Store, took part in California Coastal Cleanup Day, presented by the California Coastal Commission and Whole Foods Market. Kohl’s is an official sponsor of the event.
The statewide beach and park cleanup was part of an effort to encourage Californians to care for the conditions of the ocean and state.
Conrad was also at the event to celebrate her partnership with Kohl’s, which sells her LC Lauren Conrad collection.
“I am very excited to be launching LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s later this month because it’s going to 300 stores and it’s going to be on Kohls.com,” Conrad said.

Lauren Conrad’s a no-show at Whitney Port’s first NYC fashion show
Date: Sep 30, 09 • Categories: News • Reply
Whitney Port was always front row regular at “The Hills” co-star Lauren Conrad’s various West Coast Fashion Week shows, so many were surprised when LC was a no-show at Port’s first ever showing at New York Fashion Week on Thursday night.
FOX411 heard that word behind-the-scenes was Conrad was flying in to support Port, but canceled at the last minute due to “other commitments.”
Nonetheless the show went on, her ex-boyfriend Jay Lyon came out instead, and Port’s feminine collection hit the runway alongside pro’s Mara Hoffman and Nicholas K, which had both pluses and minuses.
“Whitney was embarrassed about it because they are professional designers and she’s just starting,” one insider told us.
The three designers then finished the night off together, however, with a celebratory cake at new SoHo restaurant, Le Souk Harem.
Lauren Conrad Says Judging Top Model Was a ‘Treat’
Date: Sep 30, 09 • Categories: News • Reply

What qualifies Lauren Conrad to be a guest judge on America’s Next Top Model alongside Tyra Banks? Well, she has designed her own clothing line and hired models for runway shows; she’s handled castings for photo shoots and fittings while working for Teen Vogue and People’s Revolution. She’s also a spokesperson for Avon’s mark line, a fashionable fixture at N.Y. Fashion Week and has been the subject of many a magazine spread.
Not to mention she’s a longtime fan of the CW’s model competition. “I don’t watch a lot of TV, but it is one of the few shows I watch. I’m such a fan of Tyra. So when they contacted me, I said yes,” Conrad tells PEOPLE. “I knew it would be a great experience. [Working with the Top Model judges including Miss J Alexander and Nigel Barker] was a treat.”
What wasn’t quite as easy, breezy or beautiful about the experience was the responsibility of taking one contestant out of the running and ending her runway dreams. “That’s the part I hated,” Conrad says. “It was so hard judging someone as every girl had qualities that should allow them to continue on. I am one of those people that wish they could all be winners.”
Conrad’s episode, which airs tonight on the CW (8 p.m. EST), features a classic ANTM challenge — the nude photo shoot. The contestants posed topless with jockeys and racehorses at the Santa Anita Park racetrack.
Not so standard is the season’s twist which required all of the participants less than 5?7?-tall. But Conrad approves of the change. “I love the twist. I think women of all sizes are beautiful, so it is refreshing to see models of different heights. It’s a bit more relatable to us short girls.

She says she enjoyed reading the way their lives as reality stars were transformed into a book. She goes on to say that the character Jane was “very Lauren”.
Whitney even poked fun at a magazine cliping she posted that claimed she was trying to hide the book cover. Whitney wrote, “it says I was trying to hide what I was reading but it says “Lauren Conrad” in huge letters on the spine!!! LOL.”
