She’s excited about the newness of spring, and Lauren Conrad is smiling brightly on the April 2015 cover of Redbook magazine.

Sporting looks from designers like Maje, Chloe, Alice + Olivia and Lanvin, the former “Hills” star shows off her posing prowess while Matt Jones snaps up photos.

Conrad chats about her relationship with husband William Tell- “I was never a person who was obsessed with the idea of marriage. I mean, I love weddings. But he’s the first person I ever thought I could marry.”

Furthermore, Lauren discussed the perceptible struggle for women in the fashion industry- “Over the last few years I’ve been able to work with several women who I really respected because they didn’t take on that role of being a b*tch. They were strong, but they were kind and they didn’t need to shout to be heard. A lot of women feel like they need to be tough in order to be taken seriously. We have this idea that kindness is weakness, which I don’t think is true.”

I added a few outtakes from Refinery29.com, where Lauren talks about her new look and collaboration with John Frieda. You can read the article here! Also, two new additions to ‘The LC Lauren Conrad Collection: Disney’s Cinderella’ album.

Keeping an eye on her business ventures, Lauren Conrad showed up at the grand opening of the Paper Crown + Rifle Paper pop-up shop at The Grove in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (February 12).

Joined by Rifle Paper honcho Anna Bond, the former “Hills” hottie perused the wares and chatted with customers while fans and paparazzi snapped up pics.

Lauren Conrad is the blonde spokesmodel behind the comeback of John Frieda’s cult line Bleach Blonde. (Naturally.) So in honor of this event, she sat down with Cosmopolitan.com to talk about her secret to her perfectly undone crop, the Disney princess clothing collaboration that’s 24-pieces deep and about to drop in Kohl’s stores and on Kohls.com on February 22, and her opinion of the selfie.

You just announced your Disney princess collaboration for Kohl’s. What inspired it?
It started from a photograph that I took at Disneyland that I Instagrammed, and then when I went into my next Kohl’s meeting, the team said, “We have a great idea!” So I met with Disney, who made me sign away my life, but they told me all their secrets.

Like … ?!
Well, I can’t say exactly, but I got an hour-long lesson about the history of Disney princesses, which was fascinating — facts about different illustrators and changes they made and why. It was so cool to see how world events affected animation. I’ve always been such a huge Disney fan, so this is really exciting for me.

Do you officially feel like a princess now that you’ve found your prince and are collaborating with Disney?
Yes! Of course.

So, which Disney princess are you?
Hmm, I don’t know.

I feel like you’re a Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.
Well, I’m very tired, so that would make sense [laughs]. I could take a nap much longer than hers.

You’ve had signature long hair for ages, including at your wedding, then pretty much cut your hair immediately after you got married. Do you think of the new short cut as representing a new phase of your life?
I don’t think so. Honestly, I considered cutting it for a long time before I actually did it, but I couldn’t touch it before the wedding. I was [originally] thinking of going for more of a lob, so we cut it in stages. Kristin [Ess], my stylist, has cut my hair for years and she knows I freak out with change, so she told me I couldn’t handle the full bob. But I ended up going shorter because it was cooler; it felt a little too safe to keep it shoulder-length.

How are you styling it now compared to when it was longer?
Kristin taught me how to do it using 1.25-inch curling iron. I usually part my hair down the center, separate it into two sections, and then wrap smaller sections around the iron away from my face, leaving the ends out. The key to making it look natural is when you’re curling it to start wrapping it around the iron at different points along your part, anywhere from one to three inches down, so there isn’t a visible pattern of where you started curling it.

You’re always having pictures taken of you, but you rarely take selfies. What do you think of them?
I just don’t think I’m a selfie person, to be honest. I’ve had my photo taken enough that I don’t need to add to it. I’ll send a silly-face selfie to a friend or send a pic to say, “I’m here … jealous?!” or, “Look who I’m with!” But when I see someone who takes a lot of photos of themselves, it doesn’t make sense to me, because you know they took, like, 30 to get that one, which means they wasted a lot of their day taking pictures of themselves.

What reality shows are you watching now?
Gold Rush and does Shark Tank count? I love Shark Tank — Robert is my favorite!

Are you surprised that people are still so obsessed with watching The Hills and Laguna Beach?
Yes, I don’t know why they are, but I’m glad. I can’t really relate to being obsessed with it because I was never able to watch it in that way, since I always was scanning it to make sure I wasn’t going to embarrass myself or anyone else, so I just had such a different relationship with it. But yes, it continually surprises me that people still are obsessed.

The rest may still be unwritten, but Lauren Conrad doesn’t anticipate many surprises in her marriage to William Tell. The Hills alum, 29, talked to Us Weekly about her husband of more than three months at the John Freida Beach Blonde Party on Thursday, Feb. 5 in NYC.

“We were full-disclosure [before the wedding]. There were no surprises,” she said of tying the knot with the recent law school grad. “It’s been great.”

Conrad attended the event with her childhood pal and bridesmaid Lo Bosworth. She also admitted that not much has changed since saying her “I Dos.” “I feel like that’s such a lame answer, but it’s true,” she said laughing. “We already lived together, we already were very much partners, and knew we were going to spend our lives together, so you know we had a beautiful wedding and it was so great.”

As for Valentine’s Day, the fashion designer and bestselling author has some tricks up her sleeve, but none that she’s willing to share.

“It’s a surprise so I can’t tell anybody,” she said of her plans. As for Tell’s ideas for the romantic holiday, “I don’t know. You have to ask him!” she said.

Lauren looked like she teleported from Laguna Beach to NYC in seconds for the beach-themed event in the Big Apple on Feb. 5. Get her beauty look below!
